As the first Nepalese woman in history to successfully climb Mount Everest, the roof of the world, and return safely, Lakpa made history in the mountaineering world. She not only accomplished her breakthrough under extremely difficult natural conditions, but also reinforced the belief that women can fight alongside in a male-dominated world of mountaineering.

In the movie, Lakpa, currently settled in the United States, is a single mother of three children who works quietly every day at a Whole Foods Market in Connecticut. Despite her mundane life, she is unwilling to give up her dream of climbing mountains. In order to realize her unfulfilled goals in life and to be a role model for her daughters, she decides to take on Mount Everest once again, a peak that symbolizes glory and limits.

Director Lucy Walker gives the movie a strong emotional resonance through her delicate camera language and authentic documentary style. From the daily life of Lakpa's family to her arduous journey back to Mount Everest, the movie depicts a mother's efforts for her dreams and hopes, and also reflects the image of Nepali women's resilience, autonomy and rebirth in modern society.
