Synopsis
비밀 (Bimil, 2023) from Korean directors 임경호 and 소준범 follows a puzzling serial murder case. The story begins with a mysterious murder in a restroom in the middle of the night, when Detective Dong-geun of the Serious Crimes Unit discovers fragments of a diary with the date of ten years ago written on the body - "This too shall pass."
Dong-geun discovers that the note is part of the diary of Young-hoon, who served with the victim and committed suicide ten years ago. As the investigation deepens, the case leads to Sung-hyun, an executive at a pharmaceutical company, but Sung-hyun also died long ago in another serial murder case, plunging the case deeper into the labyrinth.
In the process of pursuing the truth, Dong-geun accidentally realizes that Young-hoon is his friend from his student days, and the memories and secrets hidden behind the crime gradually emerge. Through its tight plot, complex character relationships and suspenseful clues, the movie brings viewers into the tension-filled world of psychological deduction.
