## Episode Description
The Zhang Yimou-directed film Article 20 focuses on a rural self-defense case, peeling back the layers of China's contradictory relationship between contemporary justice and human kindness. The movie tells the story of Han Ming (Lei Jiayin), a middle-aged prosecutor who, when faced with the multiple dilemmas of family pressure and job transition, accidentally becomes involved in a criminal case that attracts widespread attention. When Kang villager Wang Yongqiang (Pan Binlong) stabs his deaf and mute wife (Zhao Liying) while trying to protect her from village bully Liu Wenjing (Aruna), a storm of public opinion and legal battles over the right to self-defense is triggered.
With Liu Wenjing's family mobilizing local forces to petition and pressure for Wang Yongqiang to be sentenced to death according to the law, the case quickly becomes a social focus. At this critical moment, Han Ming's ex-girlfriend and fellow prosecutor Lv Ling Ling (Gao Ye) is determined to resist all kinds of pressures and dedicate herself to finding the key evidence to turn the case around.
Meanwhile, Han Ming's family is caught in a test of ethics and affection. His son, Han Yuchen (Liu Yaowen), injures the son of the school's director, Zhang Yie (Zhang Yi), when he tries to stop bullying in the school. The incident is also a tug of war between social justice and education, with heated debates between teachers and students over whether or not they need to apologize for "fighting violence with violence".
With its compact plot design and strong concern for reality, the movie makes the audience ponder between emotion and rationality.
